Black Sail, Ennerdale Valley

Black Sail Youth Hostel, formerly a shepherd’s hut, must be one of the most magnificently situated hostels in the country. The view from the front door to Pillar and the surrounding fells can hardly be surpassed. The regimented afforestation of the Ennerdale valley is not to everyone’s liking.
