Froswick, Ill Bell, Yoke

I was reacquainted with these three fells on Day 38 of my Wainwright Challenge. My previous visit was the Kentmere Horseshoe fell race, some thirty years prior, which I remember was often run in snow. Based in Keswick is my only excuse for not visiting this beautiful valley more often.

The names of the fells intrigue me. They are basically a ridge and will nearly always be done together. The colours are a reflection of the colours used on the map.

My ‘Challenge’ round started and finished at Troutbeck Church, taking in Troutbeck Tongue, Froswick, Ill Bell, Yoke, Sallows and Sour Howes.
