Green Gable

I think of Green Gable as the younger sister of Great Gable. They are family, joined by the Windy Gap depression. I don’t think I have climbed Green Gable without climbing Great Gable. My favoured route to both is probably via Seathwaite, starting with the climb by the side of Sour Milk Gill, taking in Base Brown and on to Green Gable. From the summit of Great Gable drop down to Sty Head. On a good day, the corridor route to Scafell Pike and back via Esk Hause and Grains Gill to Seathwaite. A good day, what memories.

My image is a variation of my 'Great Gable' image. They could work well as a diptych.
