Millbeck Gill

Millbeck Gill is an alternative route up Skiddaw from Keswick, direct, but steep in places. On the map it is shown as Mill Beck but I have always known it as the former.

Grains Gill or Sty Head Gill? The options from Seathwaite for Scafell Pike. Sour Milk Gill is a route choice for Great Gable from Seathwaite. Cat Gill for Walla Crag. Gills and becks are part of the conversation when discussing route options. Salehow Beck and Wiley Gill are both linked to circular sheepfolds. Pike Sike, is a feeder for Salehow Beck. Sike being an alternative for gill. Not as well known as the mountain names, the names of gills, becks and sikes, are just as intriguing.
