Mountains of the Mind

The title of a Robert Mcfarlane book Mountains of the Mind seemed a good subject for an image. For me it is a chance to reflect on a lifetime spent walking and running in the mountains of the Lake District.

As I get older, the memories of earlier exploits, looking for Mrs Tiggy-Winkle on Catbells with my daughters, to doing the Bob Graham Round are cherished.

Skiddaw, Catbells, Walla Crag, Scafell Pike, Scafell, Helvellyn, Blencathra, Grisedale Pike, Great Gable and Yewbarrow, the first ten to come to mind today, all have memories.

I look out onto Skiddaw from my home in Keswick and Yewbarrow was the last peak of my Wainwright Challenge.
