Skiddaw Little Man (Winter)

One of the pleasures of winter in Keswick, is waking up to the twin summits of Skiddaw Little Man covered in snow, under a clear blue sky. The Skiddaw massif with its smooth classical lines forms an idyllic backdrop to the town. I have probably climbed Skiddaw more than any other fell. One of my favourite routes starting from Keswick is via Spooney Green Lane, round Latrigg to the Gale Road, Jenkin Hill, Skiddaw Little Man, Skiddaw, Sale How or Dash Falls to Skiddaw House. Back to Keswick, traversing Lonscale Fell by the path above the Glenderaterra valley back to the Gale Road with the option of Latrigg summit and the wonderful views of Keswick, Derwentwater and the surrounding fells.
