The Coniston Fells

The penultimate walk on my Wainwright Challenge saw me at the top of Wrynose Pass. My route for the day was Grey Friar, Great Carrs, Swirl How, Wetherlam, Brim Fell, Dow Crag and Coniston Old Man. Finishing in Coniston.

My diary reads ‘An enjoyable day in good weather. Out and back to Grey Friar, Wetherlam and to some extent Dow Crag, made it a good walk. A cream tea in Coniston was an appropriate reward’.

On reflection, I have only scratched the surface of these fells, based in Keswick is my poor excuse for not visiting more often.

The colours used for the image are a nod to Harry Griffin and his ‘Coniston Tiger’ climbing mates.
