The North Western Fells

The Coledale Horseshoe is very familiar ground. Grisedale Pike to Causey Pike with alternatives is a regular outing.

My Wainwright Challenge:

Day 13: the circuit from Newlands Church taking in Maiden Moor, High Spy, Dale Head, Hindscarth, Robinson, Knott Rigg and Ard Crags was a delight. Three inches of good firm snow above 2000 feet.

Day 14: the northern group: Sale Fell, Ling Fell, Graystones, Broom Fell, Lord’s Seat, Barf and Whinlatter have their own quiet charm.

Two very enjoyable days.
