The Northern Fells

I look out onto Skiddaw from my home in Keswick, so it seemed a good place to start my Wainwright Challenge.

A few random notes from my diary:

Day 1: visited Dodd, Carl Side, Long Side, Ullock Pike, Skiddaw, Bakestall, Skiddaw Little Man, Lonscale Fell and Latrigg. I never tire of Skiddaw. I must remind myself, I do not need to push, relax and enjoy it.

Day 4: visited Blencathra and Mungrisdale Common. Memories of the ‘Bob Graham’ going up Hall’s Fell ridge. From Mungrisdale Common dropped down by Sinen Gill to follow the Glenderaterra path that contours Lonscale to the back of Latrigg.

Day 8: visited Carrock Fell, High Pike, Knott and Great Calva. ‘Followed the fence down from Calva to Wiley Gill and the sculptural circular sheepfold. A long trek back from Wiley Gill to Mosedale’.
