The Southern Fells

Day 34: start Langdale/Wrynose Pass, visiting Lingmoor Fell, Pike o’ Blisco, Cold Pike, Crinkle Crags, Bowfell, Esk Pike, Esk Hause Shelter and finishing down Grains Gill to Seathwaite.

In and out of cloud all day. Ascent of Crinkle Crags via the 'Bad Step'. Tricky navigation, not the best day to do the Crinkles. The weather meant we had to keep moving. Had a late lunch in the Esk Hause shelter.

Day 41: start Wrynose Pass, visiting Grey Friar, Great Carrs, Swirl How, Wetherlam, Brim Fell, Dow Crag and Coniston Old Man. Finishing in Coniston.

An enjoyable day in good weather. Out and back to Grey Friar, Wetherlam and to some extent Dow Crag, made it a good walk. A cream tea in Coniston was an appropriate reward.
