Wansfell Pike
The annual Christmas week fell race, a 2.1 mile, out and back route to Wansfell Pike, and not Wansfell as generally assumed. It was part of my Christmas ritual for many years. It is a good climb, but if icy, it can be treacherous.
It was only when doing the Wainwrights I realised the location of Wansfell. Unless you are collecting Wainwrights I doubt if many people go beyond Wansfell Pike to Wansfell.
My image is all about the fell race. It’s Christmas so Rudolph is in the lead!
