Watendlath

Dropping into Watendlath from High Tove in June,
I particularly enjoyed the patches of purple moss campion. Watendlath has been a favourite location for many years and has lots of memories for us as a family, picnics and paddling. The packhorse bridge is a delight and the main focal point for me, followed by the hamlet itself and the tarn. I am always reminded of the connection to the Walpole books, the 'Rogue Herries Chronicles'. A walk from Keswick, including Watendlath, a circuit of Derwentwater, Rosthwaite and Castle Crag is one of my favourites.
