Whinlatter

Having walked over the tops from the Pheasant Inn at Bassenthwaite, collecting outlying Wainwrights, including Sale Fell, Ling Fell, Graystones, Broom Fell, Lord’s Seat, Barf and Whinlatter I sat watching video footage of the ospreys and enjoyed a well-earned cup of tea in the visitor centre at Whinlatter. I reflected on how much the place has changed and developed over recent years. Alongside the traditional forestry work Whinlatter now has purpose-built mountain bike trails, orienteering courses, tree top adventure courses, wild play trails, marked walks and bird and squirrel watching facilities, including the live nest cameras on the ospreys.

My image in an abstract form, through colour, makes reference to some of these activities.
