Yewbarrow

Day 42: A good walk for the final day of my Wainwright Challenge. It was great that Phil could join me. We were dropped off at Harrow Head by Kathy, Sarah and Theo who went off for a ride on ‘La’al Ratty’. The round for the day included two fells I had not previously visited, three from the Joss Naylor Challenge and four from the Bob Graham Round. I noted the excellent work being done to repair the dry stone walls on the Haycock ridge. Occasionally the cloud would come in, and Phil was unlucky again on Steeple, he has yet to have a view from it. The ascent of the final fell, Yewbarrow, was by the classic BG route, the descent was not down the BG scree but via Dropping Crag to Overbeck Bridge where we were met by our support team.

By pure coincidence I completed the challenge in 42 walks, the same number as peaks on the Bob Graham Round. My final fell, Yewbarrow is also the final fell in Book Seven of 'The Pictorial Guides'.
